Sorry guys, but no new poems at this time. Instead, I have quotes that will hopefully suffice.

Kiera Merritt

Today is one of my best friend's birthday and in honor of it, I'm going to post a poem I wrote for her some time ago. It's about how grateful I am of having awesome and wonderful friends like her.

Kiera Merritt
You're a wonderful friend
I hope you'll always
Be with me until the end

You're always there for me
When I need help
It's like you read my mind
I never need to yelp

You are very funny
I think you know it
And you have no problem
Trying to show it

You're a people person
And a good one at that
You are really nice
Except when you're not

Your grades, I wish to have
You're oh-so very smart
I think I knew it
From the start

I like the way you act
As my body guard
And I guess this poem
Is the reward

Many words describe you
All of them nice
This poem here
Is not full of lies

Kiera Merritt
You are a special one
I have nothing else to say
So I guess this poem's done

I hope you like it
Cause it came from the heart
It's sappy, I know
But you're the state of the heart

Just Wait

This is the poem that I said I would post. It's about waiting and not rushing love.

You're not forever alone
You just need to wait
When the right time comes
You'll find your mate

No need to rush things
Just take your time
Have fun being single
Cause it's not a crime

You'll find someone to love
And they'll love you back
No matter the situation
Or what you lack

But relationships aren't perfect
They're not a big deal
And if you don't have a heart
There's nothing to steal

Sometimes it's better
Just being free
Where no one's telling you
Who to be

If you really want love
Then it'll come to you
But along with it
Comes heartbreak too

But not if you're lucky
And you find true love
But that doesn't happen often
Thank God above

Cause if it wasn't rare
Love wouldn't be hard to find
No need to work for it
Nor keep it in mind

So just be patient
And take things slow
And before you know it
Love will show

Mask

This is my second and last poem for the day, and apperently, today's theme is depressing! Tomorrow, I will have a sweet, happy poem up here.

This poem is about hiding pain and acting like everything is normal. I do not know where the idea came from, but I am glad it came to me.

Smile through all the pain
Put on a mask
Pretending to be happy
Isn't an easy task

You say everything's fine
When it isn't true
You want to believe it
Cause it's easier to do

Trying not to give anything away
So you laugh at their jokes
Trying to act normal
While trying not to choke

Outside you look okay
But you're really breaking inside
They have no idea
Even when they're by your side

Don't want to show any pain
So you give them a smile
Tired of faking it
Just want a break for a while

But you can't take off the mask
Or throw it in a pile
Even when you're in pain
You just have to smile

Darkness

I'm pretty sure many of you have heard about the Boston bombing that happened on Monday, April 15, 2013. Well, this poem is dedicated to the similar events going on in the world.

Dark days are here
And even darker nights
So dark that we believe
We have lost our sight

No light shines down
Upon this Earth
Nothing is special
Not love nor birth

Famine and drought all over
War and violence keeps raging on
It is never ending
For no one has won

Darkness has taken over
It has defeated light
Too many people loved
The darkness of the night

They bathed in it
And fell under the spell
It was all too late
For them to tell

That darkness is evil
It plays tricks
Fooling everyone
Making them sick

Sick enough to plan death
Causing graveyards to fill
Making people not care
Wether or not they kill

Darkness is enclosing
And we need to turn it around
Where there's peace and happiness
And we're safe and sound

Tossed Away

This is a poem that I wrote yesterday. It is dedicated to someone I know. I'm not mentioning any names because I don't think she'll appreciate it. Anyway, this poem is about a long time relationship that was tossed away. Enjoy!

A forgotten heart
No place to go
Left on a sidewalk
For people to know

That it is beaten up
Cause you walked away
Didn't want to continue
Didn't want to stay

Four years together
Meant nothing to you
A faithful heart
Who was always true

You have no idea
What you threw away
The pain you're causing
For her everyday

She tries to go on
And tries to forget
Knowing all along
You'll be filled with regret

Her heart is special
It's one of a kind
It stuck by you
So keep that in mind

Best wishes to you
Trying to get her back
Cause she deserves better
Than someone who's whack

Don't be jealous
When she finds someone new
Know it's your fault
For saying it's through

This is not a poem

Okay, you're probably wondering why I posted so many poems today since I usually post only a poem a day. Well, as you have noticed, I have not posted in a few months and posting four poems is my way of apologizing. For those of you who have been wondering, I have a good excuse as to why I'm slacking in posting poems. The reason why is because I do not know what to write about, so if you have a suggestion, feel free tell me. I'm all ears!

You left me

This is a poem I started writing at the beginning of the year. Since I'm so lazy, I just finished it today. The ending wasn't expected, but I hope it's okay.

Why did you have to go
Why were you taken away
Why didn't they let me keep you
Just for one more day

We were gonna grow old together
And have a love
That lasted forever

Instead you left me here
All alone and grieving
To envy those
That are all living

I want you back
It wasn't your time
Taking you away like that
Was a crime

Death can't have you
What it did wasn't fine
You don't belong with it
Cause you are mine

I don't want to accept this
It is not fair
Death should be called
The bringer of despair

But maybe you're happy there
And I guess that's enough for me
We'll be together someday
And we'll both be free

The way I wanted

I think y'all know well enough that I write a lot of poems about love and break-ups. Well, this poem is another break up poem (no surprise there)! I wrote this last week during school when I was bored. Don't be afraid to comment!

Didn't end the way I wanted
I could see when I looked in your eyes
You were never honest
You just fed me lies

You made excuses
But I shrugged it away
Should've seen the signs
That we weren't okay

You were always busy
That should've been the que
We weren't right for each other
I guess I deep down I knew

Now I've learned my lesson
I'll never trust again
You proved what I've known all along
That you're like all men

It happened

This poem is about first love. I wrote this a few weeks ago. It's not very well written, but I hope you can relate.

Never thought it would happen to me
But love found its way to my heart
I've been falling head over heels
Ever since the start

Don't know if it's a lesson
But I'll let it be
Things happen for a reason
And love happened to me

This better go well
Or love can go away
I don't wanna get hurt
And be the one to pay

Taking a risk after
Staying on the safe side
Like jumping off a cliff
When it's low tide

Fearless and confident
Cause he'll catch me
While I keep falling
In this sea

I trust him with all my heart
Don't know if it's a mistake
But I know for sure
This feeling is not fake

Time

This is not my Valentine's Day poem, but I hope this makes up for my lack of posting new poems! This is a poem about time and how I feel about it.

Sometimes I wish
Time would slow down
To let me catch up
And not let me drown

It's going faster and faster
It's not taking a rest
I believe time
Is giving me a test

It wants to know
How much I can take
How long before
I finally break

It seems like time
Wants me to fail
Reminding me
Life isn't a fairytale

It speeds up
Catching me off guard
Throwing me off course
Making things hard

Time is my enemy
And my best friend
Time goes on forever
Until the end
