Summer Break

    So...I've noticed that I haven't posted in quite a while. I took a break as soon as summer started, but seeing as how school is already here, summer has now come to an end. With summer ending, I'll try to muster up some decent poems to post on here. Homework has been keeping me busy these few weeks into school so don't count on me posting every single day, but I'll guarantee that there'll most likely be one every week.
     Well...that's all I have to say. Have a great day everyone and remember to think positive.

You are...

     This is a poem that I wrote a couple days ago. It's about realizing that your "friend" may actually be more than a friend. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to that situation.


Finally realized

What you truly are

In my world

You're my shining star

You are the wind

That sets me free

My secret diary

That knows the real me

You are my music

That makes me smile

The happiness

That makes it worthwhile

You are the reason
My heart beats fast
You're my wish
That's been granted at last

You are the oxygen

That I need to live

And the best present

God could ever give

Our friendship is a sunset
For it's beauty is blinding
But once it's gone
We'll miss its warmth

We dread its setting
For we want the day to last
Like our friendship
That we try to hold steadfast

Like a child that fears night
And tries to hold onto the light
I'll do anything I can
Just to make you stay again

Cause I don't want this to go away
And let the darkness overtake
Our friendship, I value too much
For me to let it break

But the sun sets so there'll be a sunrise
To bring a new day better than before
And just like our weekly fueds 
It happens to strengthen our bond

Our friendship is a sunset
I'm the moon and you're the stars
Completing each other in the night sky
In that which we call ours

And so when it turns to night 
Just know that it'll be alright
Cause sunset leads to sunrise
So there'll be no reason for goodbyes

Replaced

     I think the title pretty much explains it all...

The feeling of being replaced
Is the worst feeling of all
Cause you know they won't come
No matter how much you call

You'll feel the two of you
Start to drift apart
As they find someone else
To fill their heart

A quick process
That takes a short time
And when completed
You see the signs

That you have been replaced
And there's nothing you can do
So you just give up
Cause your nightmare came true

The reality of it
Is difficult to take in
Don't want to show weakness
So you hold it all in

You want them to be happy
Even if this is the cost
So you let go
Of the bond that was tossed

You'll start to notice
That you've been erased
Reminding you the pain
Of being replaced

But life goes on
You lose and you gain
Just remember there's a rainbow
After the rain

     I really can't believe I have more than a thousand pageviews. That may not seem a lot to some, but that's an accomplishment to me considering I just created this last October. I want to thank those who have been reading this blog since the start and those that have just started. I really hope you guys like the things I post. I wouldn't really know because no one comments. Distracted

     This poem is about getting distracted by the non-important things in life and forgetting what we're here for. Even the smallest things can lead us away from our priorities and make us unaware of how it's affecting our lives. We need to look past all the little distractions and focus on what's important.

Wandered in the forest
Then I lost my way
I was following the river
When I was led astray

Distractions were everywhere
It made me lose my sight
Of  dreams and priorities
And everything that was right

Don't know where I am
Nor which road to take
There are no signs
Showing what decision to make

Need to find the way out
Don't want to be here
The sun is setting
Increasing my fear

I have to focus
And just follow the sun
Cause I know it's God
And he's the one

He'll be my guide
And he'll lead me out
I'll start over again
And take a different route

This time I'll be more careful
And focus more
I'll try not to get distracted

Without You

     This poem is dedicated to my best friend, whom was previously mentioned in my other posts, Gabby! She is the bestest friend anyone could ever ask for, and I'm glad she's mine. Without her in my life, I wouldn't know what I'd do.
     This poem is basically about someone who isn't in your life anymore and what it feels like without them. It can be about a family member or a friend. It's a bit depressing, so brace yourselves!

I'm dying
Slowly rotting away
Without you
I can't live another day

Everyday you're not here
I'm closer to death
Just struggling to take
One more breath

My heartbeat is slowing
And it'll eventually stop
Now I'm just waiting
For the last pin to drop

Death will welcome me
With wide, open arms
And I'll gladly walk
For it shows no harm

This is what it feels like
During my last days
What my heart isn't saying
My eyes convey

       This is poem about love and how I feel about it. I've never been in love so that may be the reason the poem sounds like the way it does.


Falling in love
Doesn't come easy for me
The purpose of it
I don't really see

Why does it exist
If it only brings pain
For when it's over
There's nothing you gain

It never lasts
So why waste time
On someone you'll eventually
Stop calling "mine"

When you fall in love
A part of you is found
But you never know
If they'll be around

To catch you from the break
So you won't get hurt

For love and comfort

When you're in love
Sacrifices are made

Love can hold you back

     This was a poem that I wrote for someone very close to me. We wouldn't be best friends if there were no fights. Everything's alright now, if you wanted know.      This is the poem that I said I would post. It's about waiting and not rushing love.


You're not forever alone
You just need to wait
When the right time comes
You'll find your mate

No need to rush things

But relationships aren't perfect

Mask

     This is my second and last poem for the day, and apperently, today's theme is depressing! Tomorrow, I will have a sweet, happy poem up here.
    
This poem is about hiding pain and acting like everything is normal. I do not know where the idea came from, but I am glad it came to me.



Smile through all the pain
Put on a mask
Pretending to be happy
Isn't an easy task

You say everything's fine
When it isn't true
You want to believe it
Cause it's easier to do

Trying not to give anything away
So you laugh at their jokes
Trying to act normal
While trying not to choke

Outside you look okay
But you're really breaking inside
They have no idea
Even when they're by your side

Don't want to show any pain

Tired of faking it

But you can't take off the mask

Darkness

      I'm pretty sure many of you have heard about the Boston bombing that happened on Monday, April 15, 2013. Well, this poem is dedicated to the similar events going on in the world.


Dark days are here
And even darker nights
So dark that we believe
We have lost our sight

No light shines down
Upon this Earth
Nothing is special
Not love nor birth

Famine and drought all over
War and violence keeps raging on
It is never ending
For no one has won

Darkness has taken over
It has defeated light
Too many people loved
The darkness of the night

They bathed in it
And fell under the spell
It was all too late
For them to tell

That darkness is evil
It plays tricks
Fooling everyone
Making them sick

Sick enough to plan death
Causing graveyards to fill
Making people not care
Wether or not they kill

Darkness is enclosing
And we need to turn it around
Where there's peace and happiness
And we're safe and sound
